Printmaking Retreat with Lydia Jane Duncan

Lydia Jane Duncan is a printmaker, painter and surface pattern designer, who grew-up in Hartland, North Devon, where her love of nature and wildlife began. She works from her studio, Candyland Studios near Torrington, drawing inspiration from the stunning North Devon coastline and Flora and Fauna in the surrounding landscape, from which she creates her artworks.

The beautiful scenery that surrounds us is a constant source of inspiration and interest when creating prints. Lydia captures the magic of nature in the landscape, hinting at folklore- connecting the myths and legends of the past to the present day.

​Using traditional and modern techniques, Lydia designs colourful wallpapers and printed textiles, as a contrast to her landscape works and block prints.
