Claudine & David re-located from South West London in 2021 to have a 'sabbatical' in North Devon.

They fell in love with the stunning landscape, and the friendly vibrant community. With the purchase of Seaview Villa, a 300 year old listed building, they set about to rediscover the property's hidden beauty whilst restoring its indisputable magic.
But not forgetting their London sensibilities, they have managed to inject a dose of town house charm into the renovation, and very much enjoy the social aspect of hosting guests visiting the area.

Our Story
Having left behind our city lives, we embraced everything that the coast and the beautiful villages of Lynton & Lynmouth have to offer. Watersports, wild swimming, regattas, festivals, netball, yoga retreats, shanty singing, walks, jam nights, markets, fine dining .... you name it, there is nothing that doesn't go on here. What a wonderful, vibrant, social community it is, and we are privileged to be a part of it!

Our journey to rehabilitate our villa's seaside purpose has thrown up many challenges, some of which are ongoing, so don't be surprised to find elements of the decor unfinished, or one or both of us up a ladder fixing finishing touches!

With over 25 years experience in the events industry, we created 'Lone Pine Retreats' as a way of bringing our own special blend of hospitality and experience to guests who choose a more personalised and structured stay in Lynmouth. We have many special and unique features to bring, and will ensure that these retreats are rejuvenating, restful, and memorable.
